Printeez lets you design custom decorated products and sell them through your store or order them directly. This guide walks you through the full product creation process, from selecting a blank product to saving your decorated product.
Start Creating a Product
You can begin designing a new product in two ways:
Option 1: From the Catalog
- Catalog in the left navigation
- Click on a product to open its detail page
- Click Start Designing
Option 2: From My Products
- My Products in the left navigation to open the Your Decorated Products page
- Click + Create Decorated Product in the top right
- The Choose Products modal opens, select the product you want to customize
Choose Your Product
The Choose Products modal displays the full Printeez product catalog. Browse by category (All Products, Best Sellers, T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Polos, Tank Tops, Hats, Kids, Accessories) or use the filters (Fit, Brand, Decoration Methods, Print Locations, Material) and the search bar to find what you need.
Each product card shows colour swatches, the product name, the brand model number, and the available size range. Click on any product to select it and open the design tool.
For full product specifications, sizes, and materials, click a product on the Catalog page to view its detail page before starting.
The Design Tool
Once you select a product, the Create Decorated Product design tool opens. The tool is divided into three areas: the left panel for product configuration, the center canvas for artwork placement, and the right panel for placement tools.
Product Title
At the top of the page, enter your product name in the Enter product title... field. This is the internal product title used inside Printeez.
Warehouse
The Warehouse field shows Printeez and the fulfillment location (Granby, QC). Click the (i) icon for more details. All production is handled in-house by Printeez.
Product
Displays the selected product thumbnail, name, and model number. From here you can:
- Change Product: switch to a different product from the catalog
- More Info: view additional product specifications and details
Pricing
Pricing is automatically calculated based on the product type, print areas used, and decoration method. The Upload Artwork to calculate pricing button is shown until artwork is uploaded. Once artwork is placed on a print area, pricing will display automatically.
Decoration Method
Select how you want your design applied to the product. Available methods depend on the product. A DTG Guidelines link is shown next to the section title when DTG is selected. The available decoration methods are:
DTG (Direct-to-Garment)
Prints your design directly onto the garment for high-quality, full-colour results.
DTF (Direct-to-Film)
Transfers your design using a heat press for a durable finish.
Embroidery
Stitches your design with thread. A one-time digitization fee applies.
Finishing (Necktag)
Prints a custom inside label (neck tag) on the garment, ideal for branding. Finishing requires a separate artwork file for each garment size to ensure the correct size and care information is printed.
Neck Tag Printing Requirements
When using Finishing, upload a separate artwork file for each size listed under Artwork Variations (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, etc.). Verify each file clearly shows the correct size and required details. Save your product only after all size variations have the correct artwork. When artwork is uploaded, it is automatically resized to fit the required dimensions.
Available Colours
Choose the colours you want to offer for this product. By default, the colour selected when browsing the catalog is pre-selected.
- Selected colours have a black border
- The colour with a purple border is the one currently shown in the mockup
- Double-click a colour to deselect it
- Select all: selects all available colours for this product. The link changes to Remove all after all colours are selected.
- Remove all: deselects all colours
Available Sizes
By default, all sizes for the selected product are checked. Uncheck a size in the Available Sizes row to remove it from all colours at once.
For more granular control, click Edit Sizes to open the Sizes & Colours panel:
- Toggle Sizes for All Colors: use the checkboxes at the top to enable or disable a size across all colours simultaneously
- Each selected colour is listed with its sizes, inventory levels, and a trash icon: click the trash icon to remove that size for that specific colour only
Design Your Product
Select Print Locations
The center canvas shows the product mockup. Use the Print Locations For dropdown to select the decoration method, then click a location tab to activate it:
- Front
- Oversized Front
- Back
- Oversized Back
- Left Side
- Right Side
For inside labels, select Finishing in the Print Locations For dropdown.
Upload or Select Your Artwork
After selecting a print area, Upload and Library buttons appear on the canvas:
- Upload: upload a new artwork file from your computer
- Library: choose existing artwork already uploaded to your Printeez account
You can also click Upload Artwork in the Pricing section on the left panel to upload artwork at any time.
Printing Options (DTG only): Ink Underbase
When artwork is placed and DTG is selected, the Ink Underbase option appears:
Standard (Recommended)
Prints a white ink base layer under your design. Best for consistent, high-quality results on all garment colours.
No White Ink
Prints directly on the garment without a white layer. Creates a vintage or tone-on-tone effect.
Smart Placements
The right panel provides tools to position your artwork precisely on the selected print area.
Placement Presets
Choose a preset to quickly position your artwork:
- Free Form: position artwork freely anywhere on the canvas
- Standard: standard centered placement
- Left Chest: small left chest placement
- Large: large coverage placement
- Center Chest: centered chest placement
Size & Alignment
A set of icon buttons lets you align and resize the artwork within the print area: Align Left, Center Horizontally, Align Right, Align Top, Center Vertically, Align Bottom.
Additional Tools
- Toggle Guidelines: show or hide recommended print boundaries
- Center To Print Area: center the artwork automatically within the print area
- Fill Print Area: scale the artwork to fill the entire print area
Position & Dimensions
Distance from Collar (in)
Use the Y field to set the vertical distance from the collar. The minimum distance is 0.3”.
Dimensions (in)
Enter W (width) and H (height) values to set the exact size of the artwork in inches.
Position inside Canvas (in)
Use X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) to set the exact position of the artwork on the canvas.
Zoom & Pan
Use the Zoom & Pan tools in the lower right panel to navigate the canvas:
- Zoom Out: decrease zoom level
- Zoom In: increase zoom level
- Fit to Screen: resize the canvas view to fit your screen
- Toggle Panning: switch to pan mode to move around the canvas
Production Time Estimate
Once artwork is placed, an estimated production time appears at the top of the screen. This estimate depends on the number of print areas, the decoration method, and product availability. Hover over the estimate for more details.
Save Your Product
When you are satisfied with your design, click Create Product in the top right corner. Your decorated product will be saved and ready to use in your store or to add to a manual order.
