The Design Tool gives you precise control over where artwork sits on the canvas. You can position artwork manually with your mouse, use numerical position and size fields, or apply a Smart Placement preset to snap your artwork to industry-standard positions.
Moving Artwork on the Canvas
Click and drag any artwork item directly on the canvas to reposition it. The canvas shows print area boundary guides to help you keep artwork within the printable zone.
Position, Dimensions, Rotation & Alignment Fields
When a layer is selected, a toolbar appears below or beside the canvas with the following fields:
- Position (X, Y): the horizontal and vertical position of the artwork in the print area, measured from the top-left corner. Enter values to set a precise position.
- Dimensions (W, H): the width and height of the artwork. Enter values to resize it. Enable the lock icon between W and H to maintain the aspect ratio.
- Rotation: rotate the artwork by entering a degree value (0–360)
- Alignment: a set of alignment buttons to align artwork relative to the canvas: align left, center horizontally, align right, align top, center vertically, align bottom
- Arrange: bring artwork forward, send it backward, bring to front, or send to back, same as reordering in the layer list
Smart Placements
Smart Placements are preset positioning options that place your artwork at standard print positions. Select a layer, then choose a Smart Placement:
- Free Form: no preset, position artwork anywhere manually
- Standard: standard front print centered on the chest area
- Left Chest: small logo position at the upper left chest
- Large: large print covering most of the printable area
- Center Chest: artwork centered on the chest, slightly smaller than Large
When you apply a Smart Placement, the artwork is automatically resized and repositioned to fit the preset. You can fine-tune the result with the position and dimension fields.
