The Add Text tab in the Design Tool lets you add custom text directly to the canvas. You can style it with fonts, colors, outlines, and even warp effects.
Adding Text
- Click the Add Text tab in the left panel.
- Click Add Text (or the + button). A text layer is added to the canvas with placeholder text.
- Double-click the text on the canvas to enter edit mode and type your text.
Text Styling Options
With a text layer selected, the following styling controls appear in the right panel:
- Font: choose a typeface from the font library
- Size: set the font size
- Weight: bold, semi-bold, regular, light, etc.
- Style: italic, normal
- Align: left, center, right, or justify
- Line Height: adjust the spacing between lines of text
- Letter Spacing: adjust the spacing between individual characters
- Text Color: click the color swatch to choose a fill color for the text
- Outline: add an outline stroke around the text characters. Set the outline color and width.
Warp Effect
The Warp Effect option applies a curve or arch to the text.
Click Warp Effect and choose from the available warp styles (e.g., Arch, Arc, Wave). Use the slider to adjust the intensity of the warp.
Positioning Text
Text layers work the same as artwork layers, use the Position, Dimensions, Rotation, and Smart Placement tools (see Positioning & Smart Placements) to place text precisely on the canvas.
